The ABIOLA Environmental Portal
With the GreenActivity portal, OLA provides a platform for reporting on environmental protection actions undertaken.
Activists from schools, clubs, and NGOs, as well as private initiatives and volunteer groups, can actively participate here. The portal’s objective focuses on two core areas:
- “Correction” focus: Documentation of waste removal activities in the local area—including along rivers, in forests, or by the sea—as well as the remediation of other environmental damage.
- “Initialization” focus: A focus on new beginnings through sustainable planting and maintenance, as well as on educating the next generation.
ABIOLA provides financial support for these activities—covering both the participants’ efforts and the procurement of plants and vegetation.
Furthermore, additional funds for these projects are raised through targeted fundraising campaigns. Since ABIOLA has no overhead costs, donations go directly toward the projects.
Participation in GreenActivity is free and open worldwide—either directly via the internet or, soon, through an Android app available on the Google Play Store.
Your valuable contribution to the environment: We cannot solve the world’s problems, but each of us can make a valuable contribution. Start your own team—and perhaps a “LearnOase” too—right here on ABIOLA GreenActivity, and publish your own initiatives. The world is watching! 🙂

GreenActivity – Campaigns
Campaigns: ABIOLA runs two campaigns per year, with the switch between them occurring automatically. This is particularly relevant for activists regarding the leaderboards, as activities are aggregated on a per-campaign basis.
Example: If a team accumulates the most points during campaign 1/2027, it takes first place on that campaign’s leaderboard. If this is the first campaign since the system’s launch, the team also tops the overall leaderboard at that point. However, with the start of the second campaign (2/2027), the team begins again from zero points for that specific campaign. ABIOLA thus distinguishes between campaign, annual, overall, and other leaderboards.
Team size: A team forms the basis for all activities on the portal and can consist of up to 25 activists. However, this does not mean that all members must participate in every registered action—smaller groups or individual activists can also take part.
Portal language (English): Each team requires a unique alias, a full name, and a brief description. Please enter all details in English to maintain the portal’s consistent approach—even if your team is based in Mongolia! 🙂
Team changes: An existing team cannot be edited after it has been created. If adjustments are necessary, a new team must be created instead. Please note that, in this case, the old team’s previous activities cannot be transferred.
Tip: If you have both an email address and a smartphone, it is best to provide both when signing up.
Submissions: As previously explained, a distinction is made between two types of actions: “remedying environmental damage” and “sustainable environmental improvement.” Teams may submit any number of actions. Each submission must include photos documenting the activity in question. Additionally, a group photo of all participating activists is required.
Consent: The team leader is responsible for ensuring that all activists consent to the free publication of their images on the GreenActivity portal. If an activist does not wish to be photographed, the group photo will be taken without that person.
Verification: Any person appearing in an action photo can verify whether the reported work time is correct. If a correction is needed, it can easily be reported using the “Contact” button at the bottom of the page.
Points: ABIOLA awards points for the work performed. These correspond exactly to the team’s total work output in hours.
Example: An action involving 8 people and a duration of 2.5 hours is submitted. This means: 8 people × 2.5 hours = 20 work hours. Accordingly, 20 points are awarded.
GreenActivity – LearnOasis
General Principles: This area was created to make a lasting contribution to environmental protection. A “Learning Oasis” (LernOase) is a garden where children and students learn how to properly plant and care for plants, vegetables, or fruit. Ideally, these activities are coordinated with the school curriculum.
Example: A school sets up its own Learning Oasis and—in consultation with the students—gives it a name. Responsibility for maintaining the garden lies exclusively with 6th-grade students. At this grade level, the practical work is also accompanied by a significant amount of classroom instruction. The students handle the gardening tasks and log their “GreenActivity” actions together with their teachers.
The difference: A standard activity is a one-off event, whereas a Learning Oasis activity is assigned to a specific oasis. This activity is recorded directly within the Learning Oasis. Consequently, a single Learning Oasis can comprise numerous activities, making it easy to track how that specific oasis grows and flourishes.
Multiple views: Activities associated with a Learning Oasis also appear in the general activity overview. Images of Learning Oasis activities are likewise displayed in the gallery section.
Rewards: In 2026, ABIOLA will support ten lovingly designed Learning Oases with a grant of €50 each for the purchase of planting materials. Grants are awarded in consultation with the respective supervisors.
GreenActivity – Leaderboard & Gallery
Leaderboards: When the GreenActivity portal first launches, only a few leaderboards are displayed; however, the number of leaderboards grows over time as more activities are entered:
Example 1 – In the first quarter following the launch:
The top teams and “LernOasen” (Learning Oases) per country for this campaign (6 months).
Example 2 – A few years later:
The top teams and “LernOasen” per country for specific campaigns, individual years, or cumulatively since the start of GreenActivity. This can quickly result in 10 or more leaderboards for your team to view.
Gallery: All uploaded images are displayed randomly. Later on, it will be possible to filter images based on various criteria—a feature that becomes particularly useful once GreenActivity sees widespread use.
Note: If your team ranks 3rd in campaign 2/2026, for example, that ranking is permanent; no new data can be entered for that campaign after January 1, 2027. The system automatically switches to campaign 1/2027.
GreenActivity – Bonus for activists in authorized schools
Rewards are currently being awarded in Ghana, Benin, Nigeria, and Cameroon for exams completed via the ABIOLA Online Academy. Stocks of these rewards are maintained and regularly replenished in these countries.
In these four countries, registered schools can generally participate in the GreenActivity bonus program.
Reward: Participating activists can earn the valuable ABIOLA Pad/Pen set through their efforts. See the music video below.
Points per bonus: Upon reaching a total of 18 points per activist, a team receives an ABIOLA Set (pad and pen) for each participant.
Example: A team consists of 10 activists. Once the team reaches a total of 180 points (10 activists × 18 points), it receives 10 reward sets for the participants.
Supervisors in the four countries decide on the admission of teams or schools and the distribution of rewards.
Admission to the reward system: Please contact your respective supervisor via email beforehand to get your team approved for participation in the bonus campaign:
Ghana: ghana@abiola.ngo
Benin: benin@abiola.ngo
Nigeria: nigeria@abiola.ngo
Cameroon: cameroon@abiola.ngo
Important: Supervisors will not deliver the rewards to your school free of charge. Please clarify this arrangement in advance. In Ghana, for example, there are four pickup points in different regions.
GreenActivity – Android App
In principle, you can use GreenActivity on any device, such as a PC, tablet, or smartphone. There are several ways to use GreenActivity on a smartphone. This offers the advantage of allowing you to quickly upload photos taken with your phone.
For Android and Apple OS: Open https://greenactivity.abiola.ngo/ in your browser. You can also save this URL as an icon on your home screen.
For Android only: An app is already available for installation on your Android smartphone. It has already been submitted to the Google Play Store, and we expect it to be available there sometime in October 2026. Search for the keyword “GreenActivity.” You can recognize it by the icon featuring the letter “A” and a green background.
GreenActivity – Demo to test
Points per bonus: Once a team reaches a total of 18 points per activist, every participant receives an ABIOLA Set (pad and pen).
Example: A team is set up with 10 activists. As soon as the team reaches 180 points (10 x 18), it receives 10 reward sets for the respective participants.
Supervisors in the four countries decide on the admission of teams or schools and the distribution of rewards.
Demo version: Once you have launched GreenActivity, you will find a “Demo” button in the top left corner. This starts a demo version of GreenActivity, allowing you to quickly familiarize yourself with the portal. In the demo, you can create your own team and a “LearnOase” for testing purposes. You can also enter your own activities and assign them to a “LearnOase” if desired.
Important:
1. Users who are not logged into their own team see only the preset demo data.
2. Users logged into their own demo team also see their own data, such as activities.
Once you have tested and understood everything using the GreenActivity demo, exit the demo version and enter your actual data into the live version of GreenActivity.
Please note: Adhere to the established rules when entering data in the live version. Your data there is visible to everyone.
