Shape the digital future with us!
Welcome to Team ABIOLA. Become part of our success story: Together we create educational opportunities and shape the digital future of the next generation – in Africa and worldwide.
The vision of the ABIOLA Online Academy
Founded in September 2022, the ABIOLA Academy has already experienced impressive growth. As of February 2026, students are already learning 3,676 students in 132 schools. Our current offering includes 12 free courses with over 660 learning units and 70 quizzes.
Education is a human right here: All courses are permanently free and accessible to everyone after a one-time registration. Due to the enormous demand, we are working hard to continuously expand our course offerings.
In this post you will learn how you can join us as Course-Builder or Course-Expert.
You can support us.
Your role in the team: How we support each other
While the ABIOLA core team takes care of providing the basic content (texts, images, etc.), the support of external team members is indispensable for completion and quality assurance.
1. The Course Builder: The Architect of the Layout
As a Builder, you don’t need any specific knowledge of the course content. Your task is to copy and paste the content we provide into the course environment.
- Your tasks: Copying of texts and images, visual design in the ABIOLA style and final check.
- Requirement: An eye for good readability and care in the adoption of content.
- Learning phase: In the ABIOLA course “Become an Author” you will learn everything important about designing on our platform.
- Time required: Large, but technically uncomplicated.
2. The Course Expert: The subject matter expert
You possess in-depth knowledge in the subject area of the respective course (e.g., programming) and want to ensure the quality of the teaching. You are not responsible for the layout or the default settings.
- Your tasks: Review of subject-specific details (e.g. code checks), creation of challenging quiz and exam questions.
- Requirement: Sound expertise in the respective subject area.
- Flexibility: It is also possible to work as both a builder and an expert for a course.
Teamwork and guided working groups
You may not want to get involved alone. We expressly support the formation of working groups, for example in a school setting:
- Student-student projects: Several students divide the tasks among themselves, thus achieving faster completion and mutual monitoring for an optimal result.
- Teacher-student projects: A teacher leads a group of interested students who jointly design or examine a course.
- External freelancers: People without school affiliation are also welcome in the Academy Team, regardless of their role.
- Advantages: The work can be integrated into the curriculum, increases quality through professional guidance, and can be presented as a successful school project.
Recognition and appreciation
Your commitment to our non-profit organization is invaluable. Even though our financial resources are limited, we want to acknowledge your support. You have the choice between:
- Hardware: For example, notebooks or solar systems.
- Financial contribution: A monetary compensation for expenses.
- Mention by name: If you wish, you will be mentioned by name as a contributor in the course.
Communication and coordination
Since many of our students and team members primarily communicate via smartphones, we focus on simple methods:
- Requirement: Having your own smartphone is absolutely necessary for participation.
- Messenger platform: After initial contact, usually via WhatsApp, all communication takes place via the free messenger service „Viber“.
- Overcoming language barriers: Viber allows everyone to dictate or read messages in their own language – this is how we work hand in hand internationally, both in individual messages and in group chats.
