Animated Charts

Before moving on to the last part, creating a quiz using links, I’ll introduce you to a trick on how to make your diagrams more interactive.

-Bar graph

To create this animated bar chart, let’s start with the basic design. Under Standard Shapes, select the rounded rectangle and drag it into the shape of a bar.
Choose a neutral color fill for the bar.

Copy the bar, choose a more eye-catching color, and drag it to the appropriate percentage.

Add the percentage and additional text, and repeat the process for more percentages.

The Animation

Select the first background bar and the additional text. Click on the “+”. Select “Fly In” as the animation.
Now click on the colored bar. Click on the “+”. Select Swipe. For Direction, enter “from the left”.
(Optionally, you can also start this animation “After Previous”).
Now click on the percentage. Click on the “+”. Select “Zoom” as the animation and “With Previous” as the start.

Repeat this process for more bar charts and text.

-Pie chart

Unfortunately, you can’t animate an automatically generated pie chart in this way.
For this animation, we need to create a pie chart by hand. To do this, we use the Circle Sector function under Standard Forms.
Use it to drag a circle sector to the desired size and adjust the segment with the slider. Copy the circle sector and place it on top of the existing circle sector. Now pull the new district sector so that it connects to the previous one. Repeat this with other county sectors.

Color the circle sectors as you like. Add a percentage and additional text.

The Animation

Click on the first circle sector you want to animate and the percentage. Click on the “+” in the animation area. Select “Fly In” as the animation. Click on the corresponding text. Click on the “+” and select “Fly in” as the animation as well. Select “With Previous” as the start.

Repeat this process for the other sectors.

With Impress, it can happen that bugs occur in the animation function again and again. To avoid this, I advise you to always use the group function.
