Animation of your outline
In the 4th lesson, you have already created your outline. Based on these, let’s now approach the animation functions.
Open the outline you’ve already created.
On the right side above the slide master icon you will find the icon for animations. It consists of a yellow star and dashes. Click on it.
Now an empty window will open as shown on the right.
Now mark the entire first bullet point that you want to animate. It’s best and easiest if the entire bullet point is already grouped.
Below the empty box, you can now click on the “+” to add an animation. Now you will see the first bullet point displayed in the upper field.
Select Category | Entrance.
Under Effect | Fly In.
Now you can enter the other bullet points step by step according to the same pattern.
“Entrance” here stands for the first appearance. Other categories include “Exit” to make an object disappear from the slide. “Emphasis” allows objects to be highlighted by color or movement, and “Motion Paths” allows objects to move across the slide on defined paths.
Here, it is especially helpful if you have grouped the individual elements that belong together. Then one click is all it takes to capture all the elements. Otherwise, you have to mark all the elements individually.
Click on “Slide Show” at the top of the bar and let the presentation start.
Other features
As you’ve probably already seen, there are other fine-tuning options under the effect selector.
Start – Here you can choose whether you want the animation to start with a mouse click or directly after or with the previous one
Direction – Setting the animation direction
Duration & Delay – Here you can set how long you want the animation to last and whether there is a delay between this animation and the previous one.
