Low current/high current

The term “photovoltaic offgrid” is used for solar systems that are not fed into a public power grid. There are offgrid systems with high-voltage electricity, which are called stand-alone systems. There are also small SolarKits, which are preferably used by ABIOLA.

In Africa, ABIOLA only donates SolarKits with low-current, which is harmless when touched by humans.

The term “SolarKit” is used for packages of various components such as solar panels, lamps and cables. With the SolarKit you can charge a battery with solar energy during the day and operate lamps or fans in the evening as well as charge mobile phones.
